In fact, you may not be the perfect candidate for dental implants if you\u2019re:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young because your mouth hasn\u2019t stopped developing.<\/li>\n<li>Currently pregnant.<\/li>\n<li>A tobacco user or not willing to quit using tobacco products.<\/li>\n<li>An alcohol or substance abuser.<\/li>\n<li>Someone who has received high-dose radiation treatment of the head or neck.<\/li>\n<li>Someone with chronic diseases or systemic problems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Before you leave this page, there are other options available for you! <\/strong>In fact, there are several non-implant options including bridges, partial dentures, or complete dentures.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Replacing a Single Tooth Without Dental Implants<\/h2>\n<h3>A Tooth-Supported Fixed Bridge<\/h3>\n<p>The most common alternative to dental implants for single tooth replacement is to use a dental bridge. You can simply create a bridge between the two surrounding teeth and fill the space your missing tooth left. All your dentist does is remove small amounts of your natural surrounding teeth to allow your dental bridge to be attached. This supports the bridge and helps your restoration blend with the rest of your teeth.<\/p>\n<h3>A Composite Resin-Bonded Bridge<\/h3>\n<p>Sometimes, your dentist may recommend having your dental bridge bonded with cosmetic composite resin for single tooth replacement. This is a good option if your missing tooth is in the front of your teeth for aesthetic reasons. But, if your missing tooth is in the back, it\u2019s not the best idea to use composite resin for teeth that will be crunching and breaking down food. It\u2019s not typically as strong as fixed bridgework.<\/p>\n<h2>Replacing Multiple Teeth Without Dental Implants<\/h2>\n<h3>Removable Partial Dentures<\/h3>\n<p>Partial dentures are a great way to replace multiple teeth throughout your smile\u2014they don\u2019t even have to be consecutive! If you have missing teeth on either side of a remaining natural tooth, a partial denture can be created to fit within your smile like the perfect puzzle piece.<\/p>\n<h3>Removable Complete Dentures<\/h3>\n<p>If you have severe tooth loss and you\u2019re not a good candidate for dental implants, you can rely on complete dentures. This appliance because it simply sits on the top of your gums where your missing teeth used to be. Complete dentures dramatically improve patient\u2019s lives by allowing them to speak and chew with ease once again.<\/p>\n<p>There are many options for tooth replacement.
