Pain or Pressure in the Back of the Mouth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most common signs of impacted wisdom teeth is persistent pain or pressure near the back of the jaw. As wisdom teeth try to emerge without enough space, they may push against nearby teeth or remain trapped under the gum tissue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This pressure can create a dull ache that comes and goes, or it may develop into sharper pain over time. Some people also notice discomfort when chewing or opening their mouth widely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because wisdom teeth are located so far back in the mouth, the pain may sometimes feel like it\u2019s coming from the jaw or even the ear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Swollen or Tender Gums<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Another common symptom of impacted wisdom teeth is inflammation in the gums surrounding the affected area. The gum tissue near the back molars may appear swollen, red, or tender to the touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases, a flap of gum tissue may partially cover the wisdom tooth as it attempts to erupt. Food particles and bacteria can become trapped in this area, leading to irritation and infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This condition, known as pericoronitis, can cause additional symptoms such as bad breath, an unpleasant taste in the mouth, or difficulty chewing comfortably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Difficulty Opening Your Mouth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Impacted wisdom teeth can sometimes cause stiffness or discomfort in the jaw. This may make it harder to open your mouth fully or chew normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The surrounding tissues may become inflamed as the impacted tooth presses against nearby structures.
