Dr. Kelly says that the most rewarding part of her job is helping her patients become the best version of themselves by improving their dental health. She has seen so many people’s personalities come to life because she’s helped them get out of pain or given them a smile that fills them with confidence. Dr. Kelly loves being a part of the Spring Hill community, and she looks forward to welcoming you into our practice! To learn a little more about her ahead of your visit, read on below.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Kelly actually grew up around dentistry because her mom was a dental hygienist who eventually transitioned into dental sales. She spent a lot of time in a dental office as a child and really enjoyed the setting and seeing the impact that dental care had on individual patients as well as the community at large. So, when it came time to choose a career, she felt like her path was clear.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After attending Hope College in Holland, MI for her undergraduate degree, Dr. Kelly earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, TN. She then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency through the United States Army and went on to provide dental care for active-duty soldiers.
Always striving to learn more and provide better care, Dr. Kelly has completed several advanced training courses over the years, including ones focused on oral conscious sedation, same-day crowns, dental implants, root canal therapy, oral surgery, and more.
She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Kelly and her husband, Ryan, have two young daughters, Joelle and Audrey, who make them smile every day. In her free time, she can often be found riding her horse, Atticus, who she says is basically a golden retriever in a horse’s body! She is an avid equestrian and has competed in Dressage, Show Jumping, and Cross Country Jumping in the past. Dr. Kelly also played competitive soccer as a child and currently coaches her older daughter’s team. To relax, she and the family enjoy doing anything outdoors and watching Nashville Predator or Detroit Lions games (her husband is a die-hard Lions fan).
